The Seventh Dragon Boat Races Held in Shanghai for International Students
The seventh Dragon Boat Races in universities of Shanghai was hold in June 7, 2014. 26 universities were taking part in the races.
The races began at 2 pm. After drawing lots for turns, overseas students from Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine was the third team and in the second course. The other two teams, without a sign of weakness, and laid to their oars when the starting gun fired. Every group were trying to catch up with each other. They were pulling though in the cheers of cheering squad. Although the training period is short, the team from SHUTCM did well in the races. A strong team awareness and valiant spirit was shown fully in this race.
Dragon Boat Race is a good way to learn Chinese culture. International students in Shanghai gather together and enjoy the festival. It is annual party for them. Since the first competition in 2008, more than 1000 students have taken part in the competition and increase the interests of the traditional Chinese activities.
