Board Meeting of Confucius Institute at Augusta University just held

The 2015 board meeting of Confucius Institute at Augusta University, formally knownas Georgia Regents University was held at the International Cooperation Center on December 8.

During the meeting, Cindi Chance, Director of the Confucius Institute on the US side demonstrated a series of working performances that have been launched, which included teaching activities of Chinese language and TCM (Traditional Chinese Medicine) courses, as well as Chinese culture activities. She expressed with concerted efforts from all the staff, and support from the leading party of the bilateral sides, the panorama of the institute in the year ahead will be upstaged to a new level.

Quincy Byrdsong, Vice President of Augusta University, pointed out that the institute will be a platform of thorough exchanges and cooperation between the two universities, and the two could activate more profound exchanges and cooperation in the fields of TCM education, scientific research and talent cultivation.

Xu Jianguang, President of Shanghai University of TCM, stated through fruitful achievement of the Confucius Institute, the university will strengthen international cooperation, reinforce exchanges of teachers and students between the two, explore new areas of cooperation, facilitate common development, andstrive for better accomplishment in the coming year.

Vice President of Shanghai University of TCM Shi Jianrong, Director of Confucius Institute on the Chinese side Zhou Wenxing, Director of International Office Zheng Linyun, Vice Dean of International Education College were present at the meeting.

During the stay in Shanghai, representatives from the both sides attended the 10th Confucius Institute Conference in Shanghai, and visited Shuguang Hospital and the Herbal Garden.
