Acupuncture class offered
The 268th International Introduction Course of Acupuncture started at the Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine on April 1.
A total of nine students from Canada, France, US, Ireland, Turkey, Thailand and Indonesia were enrolled in this training course which will last for three months. They will be offered with classes on fundamental theories of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), TCM diagnostics, theory of meridian lines and acupoints, the techniques of inserting needles and moxibustion, how to cure common diseases through acupuncture, and others.
Students will also have clinical internship at departments of acupuncture and moxibustion at hospitals affiliated to the university.
The acupuncture course has long been a featured short-term training course of the university. Since the 1970s, more than 1,000 acupuncturists from more than 30 countries have attended the training course.
Established in 1956, the Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine is one of the first four colleges on Traditional Chinese Medicine in China. It has cultivated various kinds of TCM professors and offers comprehensive courses on TCM, Chinese herbs, TCM gynecology and so on.
