Students and Teachers of International Education Center Give Volunteer Medical Consultation
On June 14th, 2013, a team of sixteen students and teachers of Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine International Education Center visited the ZhangJiangGeracomium. The volunteer medical team was led by vice-presidentMs Ying LiJun.
The medical volunteer team comprised 5 teachers and 11 senior students from Vietnam, Malaysia, Korea. It was divided into consultation group and Tuina group. The teacher in charge of overseas student’s office and Nguyen DinhTu from Vietnam had done a lot of preparatory work to ensure the smooth running of the volunteer work.
Senior management staff of ZhangJiangGeracomium and the senior people at the nursing home welcomed our medical volunteer team. The medical volunteer service started at 2 p.m. Teacher Chu GuiXiang was in charge of the consultation team, which provide the elderly people with medical advice and health guidance. Teacher Zhang Wei was in charge of Tuina team, which provided Tuina therapy with different manipulations aiming at helping the elderly relaxing the body and distressed muscle.
The laudable volunteer work has won praises from the management staff and the senior people at the nursing home. Both students and teacher cherish this opportunity to contribute to the elderly in the ZhangJiang Community.
