Czech Prime Minister Visited Shuguang Hospital to Promote TCM (Traditional Chinese Medicine) Cooperation and Exchange

On November 24, a delegation led by Czech Prime Minister Bohuslav Sobotka, Health Minister Svatopluk Nemecek, Chairman of Sino-Czech Cooperative Association Jaroslav TvrdĂ­k, Director of University Hospital Hradec Kralove Roman Prymula, together with around 40 members, visited Shuguang Hospital.

 

The delegation visited TCM Dispensary, TCM Therapy Center, Center for Preventative Treatment of Disease, wards of Anorectal Department, during which the application of Chinese herbal medicine was displayed. They also experienced the application of state-of-art TCM equipment such as the four diagnostic machine, and inspected TCM featured treatment techniques, including acupuncture & moxibustion, tuina, fumigation, skin scraping therapy, cupping, etc. The delegation was presented with a panorama of the initial achievement regarding cultural exchanges between the two countries, as well as the profound history embedded in Shuguang hospital by visiting the exhibition hall of TCM cooperative exchanges between the two and the centenary memory of Shuguang Hospital.


Chinese Ambassador to the Czech Republic Ma Keqing, Deputy Director of European Affairs Department of Ministry of Foreign Affairs Wang Shunqing, Deputy Director of Shanghai Foreign Affairs Office Fan Yufei, Deputy Director of Shanghai Municipal Commission of Health and Family Planning Zheng Jing, President of Shanghai University of TCM Xu Jianguang, Director of Shuguang Hospital Zhou Hua, Director of Board of Administrative Affairs of Shuguang Hospital Ma Junjian were also present during the visit.


The TCM center, cofounded by Shuguang Hospital and University Hradec Kralove of Czech, being the first TCM center supported by the government across the CEEC (CentralEastern European Countries) area, is a crucial component of the Belt and Road Initiative. The visit will strengthen further buildup of the center and promote the policy-making process of TCM in the Czech Republic.
