SAF (Student Assistance Fund) Implementation Rules for International Students Studying Maste at SHUTCM (2015)
The Student Assistance Fund for international students studying Master’s degree programs aims to support excellent prospective international students pursuing full-time Master degree programs.
Eligibility
Applicants must be non-Chinese nationals in good health.
Excellence in academic performance and character.
Having not been awarded any other Chinese Government Scholarships (not including
Chinese Government Scholarships for Self-Paid Excellent Students) and Shanghai
Government Scholarships at the same time.
SAF Amount and Categories
SAF amount (RMB)
Class-A SAF: 8,000; Class-B SAF: 6,000; and Class-C SAF: 4,000
SAF categories
Class-A: International students who earned at least 2 Master’s degrees (including a double
Master’s degree) or doctorate.
Class-B: International students who earned the Master’s degree.
Class-C: International students who graduated from SHUTCM with a GPA≥ 3.
Application Materials

Original or notarized photocopy of highest diploma. If applicants are undergraduate
students, they shall also provide studying certificates and subsequently the original or
notarized photocopy of academic diploma upon admission. Certificates in other
languages need to be translated into Chinese or English, coupled with a notarized
certificate of the translation.
The applicants must guarantee the authenticity of the submitted materials, if any of the
submitted material is found to have been falsified; the applicant will be disqualified and
will take full responsibility of any consequence that come after.
The application will not be processed if the materials are incomplete. Application
materials will not be returned regardless of the final result of the application.
Application Deadline
Applicants should submit the complete application materials mentioned above before
March 15, 2015.
Application Review
The application package of eligible applicants will be examined by the SHUTCM Student
Assistance Fund (SAF) Review Panel.
If necessary, the SAF Review Panel will then examine the SAF recipients through
face-to-face interview, telephone or e-mail.
The SHUTCM will inform the applicants of the final results in written form.
Cautionary Notes
Upon matriculation, the International Students Office will give a public notice listing the
names of SAF recipients for the academic year . The period of public notice shall be at
least 3 work days. If there are no objections, the Office will officially announce the SAF
recipients.
The SAF will not be delivered to recipients until they pay the full tuition of that
academic year. However, the SAF will be suspended or revoked if the recipient violated
the University regulations or Chinese laws or regulations.
Others
The Implemental Rules will be effective in January 2015. The SHUTCM reserves the right for
final interpretation.
